Finish Manager

Scope of Tactical Work Required:
- Work closely with vendors (i.e. coatings & equipment) to test materials, assess future equipment purchases, gauge/measure ROI, manage costs, improve quality
- Strategic – big picture thinker, be able to streamline processes
- Manage day-to-day operations of finish department including 3-5 direct reports and 75 total employees
- Close working relationship with management team (both senior and production)
- Daily data collection that focuses on safety, quality, cost, & delivery
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
- Finishing line experience with knowledge of material thickness, flash times, dry times, etc. is required
- Thorough understanding of wood finishing not limited to coatings, equipment, and processes is required.
- Strong leadership skills
- Lean (Continuous Improvement) experience is a plus
- Emphasis on mixing
- Color formulation background is a plus (i.e. use of color theory, tints, dyes, etc.)
- 4 year degree in Business, Management or Wood Technology / or combination of experience

- Finishing line consists of Flat, Hang and Cart Lines
- Reciprocating sprayers (seal & top-coat)
- “Conveyorized” opaque paint process
